铬铁矿砂简介
铬铁矿砂具有磁性，可以用磁选机辅助选矿，分耐火级和冶金级。铬铁矿砂又称铬矿砂，铬铁矿砂是铸造用特种砂，是以铬铁矿为主的天然尖晶石，经破碎、筛分成规定粒度，适用于造型（制芯）的砂。 铬铁矿砂在铸造生产中主要用于大型铸钢件的面砂，防止铸件表面粘砂；其次将其磨粉用于铸造涂料的耐火骨料；铬铁矿砂是激冷材料，在造型（制芯）时可替代部分冷铁。

铬铁矿砂特性
明悦铬铁矿砂在造型材料中属于特种砂的范畴，其主要矿物组成为FeO.Cr2O3，密度为4.04.8g/cm3，莫氏硬度为5.56级，耐火度大于1900，铬铁矿砂有很好的抗碱性渣的作用，不与氧化铁等发生化学反应。由于铬铁矿砂热导率比硅砂大好几倍，而且在熔融金属浇注过程中发生固相烧结，从而有利于防止熔融金属的渗透。
1、铬铁矿具有优良的激冷特性，这种特性不减少热裂，但能影响温度梯度，促进方向性凝固而不需用冷铁。
2、铬铁矿是惰性的，因而不和其它金属氧化物发生反应，它不被锰钢水润湿。锰钢铸件能很成功的使用铬铁矿砂。如果铸型是正常地刷涂料并且氧化硅含量低，则没有铁橄榄石反应。
3、铬铁矿的线膨胀小，而线膨胀是一个可能引起铸件夹砂的因素，因此它可能用来混制大铸件用的湿砂型。
