高铝球是氧化铝球的一个类别，由于其氧化铝含量较高而被简称为高铝球。高铝球根据氧化铝含量又可细分为90、92、95、99等系列。高铝球由于其具有高强度、高硬度、高耐磨性，比重大、体积小、耐高温、耐腐蚀、无污染等优异特性而被广泛的运用于不同类型的陶瓷、瓷釉、玻璃、化工等等工厂的厚硬材质精加工和深加工。以92%含量的高铝球为例，其比重(密度)应该达到3.60以上，氧化铝含量达到91.5%以上，含铁低。同样的原料，同样的配方，同样的烧成温度下，原料研磨后的粉料细度越小，则比重越高，耐磨性越好。
