双奇还原铁粉一般由四氧化三铁在高热条件下在 流或气流中还原生成，主要成分为结构疏松的单质铁。由于还原铁粉本身已为粉末状，再加之其微观结构又十分疏松，故其表面积极大。在化工生产及实验室作业中常用作优质还原剂。 还原铁粉由于易氧化，故要粉碎分级必须要在保护气体的状态下进行，一般要进行超微粉碎分级时是用JZDB氮气保护粉碎分级机进行超微粉碎分级，如果只是要对还原铁粉进行高精分级则只需用JZDF氮气保护分级机即可。
铁粉是铁的颗粒集合体，颜色：黑色，是粉末冶金的主要原料。按粒度习惯上分为粗粉、中等粉、细粉、微细粉和超细粉五个等级粗粉、中等粉、细粉、微细粉和超细粉五个等级。

1、作为粉末冶金制品的原料，耗用量约占铁粉总耗用量的6080％。
2、作为电焊条的原料，在药皮中加入1070％铁粉可改进焊条的焊接工艺并显着提高熔敷效率。
